Check Her Out!

Jake Rasmussen | November 19, 2008 | 10:47 am

Check out Kristin McGee, the musical worship leader at Epic Church.  She wrote a short story for a tshirt contest and she won!  They invited her to help create a video about her story and this is it.

Jedidiah is an amazing company that I have personally invested my money into to help see their vision become a reality.  I hope you enjoy the video and will check out:  http://www.jedidiahusa.com

We at Epic Church are very proud of Kristin and her acomplishments.  We are thrilled to have her lead the musical worship time at the weekend Epic Gathering.  She is a hard worker who loves Jesus and those around her.  We are excited for this acomplishment and continue to look for great things to come.  Feel free to send her a word of encouragement at:  kristin(AT)epicchurchonline.org

Role Models

Jake Rasmussen | May 5, 2008 | 2:00 pm

I am getting started this morning on my jam packed week of tasks.  I wanted to take just a moment to share with you about a role model in my life.

Joy

David Houchin.

David is a Follower of Jesus, a husband, a father of three, grandfather of 3, brother of 3, a son, a pastor, a church planter, an entrepreneur, father-in-law to 2, but all of these things are summed up to me in one description:  ROLE MODEL.

I have known David for over 10 years now.  He is a compassionate man who thinks of others more than himself.  If I could continue to copy my life after him I think I would be in great shape.  As I am a father now of a little boy, if anything were to ever happen to me I would want my boy to grow up just like his ‘grand-dad’.

David is a prime example of how to love this family.  My wife models this EVERYDAY for me.  She is loyal, compassionate, calculated and always has family on her mind.  She learned this from her dad.  In the pastor circles you hear stories all the time about pastors who neglected their family for the “ministry”, David is NOT one of those pastors.

David always has time for his family.  He takes this grandchildren to the dollar store and the park to feed the ducks, his wife of 25+ years out on dates, lunch and dinner with this kids and more.

I am thankful for David’s continued positive impact in my life.  I am happy to call him my friend and my role model.

David pastors a new church here in Tucson.  It is called EastPointe Church.  If you are looking for a place to call your church home or you are just interested in learning more about the Bible and Jesus swing by some Sunday and hang out with my role model, David Houchin.
