Getting Help.
Jake Rasmussen | October 25, 2008 | 11:17 amMany of you know that over the past 30+ weeks have been part of starting a church in Tucson, Arizona called Epic Church. This process has been uber stressful, very fun, sad and so much more. But, one thing that I have been thing about is this…
People ask me often, with great sincerity, “What can I do to help?”
Those are powerful words and I welcome them SO much. The problem is that I am not sure what to give people. Have you been there? Like you need help, you desire help, you are a team person but you don’t where to first lead others to help you?
Well, that is where I am at. If you have any ideas, I would be open to the “help”. (smile)

Breaking down your processes into tangible actions/steps so that you
Mia | October 25, 2008 | 12:55 pmBreaking down your processes into tangible actions/steps so that you can see, hopefully subjectively, what you need to DO to acheive your goal may help w/ accepting the offers of help. It will allow you to point to a certain step you’ve identified and say “actually, yes, you can do ‘this’ for me.” You may also want to identify, along w/ each step, supportive roles others can play in order to help you with each step you’ve identified. The help may be running an errand for you so you are free to work on something else, to actually doing something that is part of the project, but I think either way, listing out these identifiable steps will clear the possible fog that is preventing you from seeing the ways in which people can help you.
IF it so happens that you need help even breaking down the big picture into smaller steps, I think you should look to someone in your community who has business experience or who you feel has the skills to assist you with creating a step-by-step approach to reaching the goals you need to reach and then once that is established, you’ll know how and when to accept help.
